Wayne Groves -Vocalist and Emcee

Wayne sang in his first group at the age of 14 learning harmony in church. He has been in several gospel groups since the early 1990's. Early in 2000 Southern Grace asked him to fill in and sing with them; as they were looking for a tenor. Wayne agreed and was with them until December of 2005.

He has sung and played piano from an early age and currently attends his local church when not on the road. He is married to Louise and has three children; Jason, Joseph and Sandra and make their home in Kissimmee, Florida. Wayne received his Ministerial Ordination in Music in 2003. Along with Sterling and Deborah, organized New Day Music Ministries in February of 2006.

LIFE ON THE ROAD

Distinctive memory with New Day: When Sterling, Deborah and I met and agreed to launch. Recording our debut project in Georgia.

What being a member of New Day means to you: It's a dream come true to follow the leading of God in ministry and fulfill the commitment of the ‘calling'.

Give a short testimony about salvation: Being raised in Church was not enough. I was sinsick, a father of three, single and homeless. I went to church with my parents after coming home to them and ask God to change my life. I promised Him I would work for him until he called me home. Now I'm living it.

Likes about the Road: Meeting so many interesting people.

Dislikes about the Road: Heavy traffic!!

Something you don't think people know about you: The empathy I have for people and a profound sadness that I have for people who take our Savior for granted.

Who do you admire: My parents; their faith in God has never wavered and God has NEVER failed them. People who really strive to live their life as a Christian in such pleasant excess so as to give it away. (The overflowing cups we all need along our journey home.)
